1. Scope
This policy covers MaxView and Volumate, their Safari extensions, and their macOS companion apps, provided by BitBridge LLC. It also covers information you voluntarily send us for extension support.
Another BitBridge Safari extension may use this policy only when its actual data practices match these disclosures and it explicitly links to this policy. An extension with additional data practices will need an updated policy or a separate notice.
2. Data and local processing
The covered extensions and companion apps do not send personal information, browsing or watch history, page content, account details, media URLs, or media files to BitBridge or a data-collection service. They include no analytics, advertising SDKs, telemetry, tracking cookies, or account system, and make no automatic requests to external services.
They read and change information within websites you authorize to provide their features. This processing takes place on your device:
- MaxView finds and resizes the original video player. It temporarily uses page and frame addresses, player or page labels, layout dimensions, interaction timing, and playback state to choose and control a player and restore the page. Temporary player inventories and frame-coordination messages are not saved as browsing history or sent to BitBridge.
- Volumate reads the current YouTube page type, player layout, volume and mute state, and your scroll gestures to adjust volume and show its status. It does not save watch history, page URLs, video content, or YouTube account information.
We do not sell, rent, share for targeted advertising, or use your extension activity to build a profile. We do not receive the local information described above.
3. Saved preferences
Preferences are saved in Safari’s local extension storage on your Mac. The extensions do not upload them to BitBridge or use a cloud-sync service.
- MaxView: button visibility, position and style, Fit/Fill, and scroll-volume preferences. Optional website overrides also save the exact top-level hostname, enabled state, selected preferences, and playback speed when you enable remembered speed. Website entries are created when you choose website preferences; URL paths and a record of pages visited are not saved. Settings are separate between Safari profiles.
- Volumate: enabled state, sensitivity, gesture mode, reverse direction, overlay visibility and style, and optional Shorts support. Current player volume is used for playback control and status; it is not uploaded to us.
4. Safari permissions
Safari website access allows the extensions to interact with video players on permitted pages. MaxView requests access across websites so it can work on the sites you choose; embedded players may need permission for their own website. Volumate requests access to youtube.com and www.youtube.com.
The active-tab permission lets the toolbar interact with the current tab, and storage permission saves your preferences locally. Website access does not send your browsing activity to us. You can change website access or disable either extension in Safari → Settings → Extensions at any time.
5. Support and optional diagnostics
If you email info@thebitbridge.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or diagnostic information you choose to include. We use them to respond, troubleshoot, and resolve your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or sensitive browsing or media information.
Volumate’s Copy diagnostic information action copies extension and component versions, connection and settings status, and error state to your clipboard. It does not include page URLs, watch history, account details, or video content, and it does not send a support request automatically. We receive it only if you choose to share it with us.
MaxView’s companion app may write Safari-settings operation names and error domains or codes to the local macOS system log. It does not include browsing content in those messages or upload them to BitBridge.
Our email providers process correspondence to deliver and maintain the support service. We do not use support correspondence for advertising or sell it. We may disclose it if required by law.
6. Other services and optional links
Safari, macOS, the App Store, and websites such as YouTube operate under their own privacy policies. Websites may process playback changes made through their own player controls or APIs, just as when you use the original controls. These extensions do not prevent a website’s normal network activity or tracking.
Links you choose to open may take you to the BitBridge website, an external website, or your email app. Optional Ko-fi tips are handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers under their policies. The extensions do not process payments, receive payment-card details, or unlock features based on tips.
7. Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local preferences remain in Safari’s extension storage until you change or reset them or Safari removes that storage. MaxView’s toolbar popup lets you reset a website or all settings. Volumate’s Help menu includes Reset settings to restore its preferences to defaults. Resetting preferences does not erase the underlying website’s own data.
Temporary page and player state is held only while needed for the current page or operation. Local system logs are managed by macOS. Disabling an extension or revoking website access stops its operation on those pages; it does not itself erase saved preferences. You can also uninstall the companion app. Safari and macOS manage removal of extension storage.
We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve support requests and meet applicable legal obligations. Email info@thebitbridge.com to request access, correction, or deletion of information you sent to support. If a legal obligation requires us to retain some information, we will explain that limitation. We cannot access or remotely delete preferences held only on your device.
8. Visiting this policy page
This page does not load Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels, external fonts, or optional cookies. It is publicly readable without an account, payment, or installed extension.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical request information, such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time, to deliver and protect the website. This website traffic is separate from extension activity and does not give us access to your Safari history or saved extension preferences. See Vercel’s privacy notice for its service-data practices. Other pages on the BitBridge website may use website analytics.
9. Policy changes
We will update this policy and its effective date when the covered practices change. We will also update the relevant App Store privacy disclosures when needed. Any extension that adds analytics, accounts, cloud sync, or other data collection must have disclosures that describe those practices before they take effect.
