working for you.

Enable and get started.
Enable in Safari
Once installed, open MaxView, then enable it in Safari → Settings → Extensions.
Choose website access
Allow access to the sites where you watch. Embedded players may also need access to their own website.
Expand a video
Refresh an open page, hover over a video, and select the MaxView button. Press Escape to restore.

Common questions.
The video button isn't showing
Check that MaxView is enabled in the current Safari profile and allowed on the website. Refresh the page, then hover over the video. You can also select a player from the toolbar. Check that the video button is enabled in MaxView's preferences.
An embedded player won't expand
Safari may need website access for both the page and the embedded player's website. Grant the access you want to allow, refresh the page, then try Choose in the toolbar. Some protected or private players limit what an extension can control.
A shortcut, fullscreen, or Picture in Picture doesn't work
Try the video button or toolbar first. Safari, macOS, and websites can intercept keyboard shortcuts. Fullscreen, Picture in Picture, and extra playback controls depend on support from Safari and the player.
I want to return to the page
Press Escape or use the Restore control in MaxView's overlay. If a website changes during playback and the layout does not recover as expected, reload the page.
I can't save a preference
Reopen the toolbar popup and check for a save or connection error. Use Reload to refresh the popup state. Reset site removes that website's overrides; Reset all returns MaxView's preferences to their defaults.
